Pilates at home, my choice
We all want a fabulous body, slim, firm yet not bulky …fit! Pilates helps having long and lean body, because the exercises are based on controlled movements based on the idea of dynamic tension. Stretching and tensing your entire body, you muscles will become longer, leaner and stronger but not bulky. There are a few methods, personally I like practicing pilates at home.
Developed in the 1920s by the legendary physical trainer and founder of the Pilates Studio™, Joseph H. Pilates, The Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk. Not surprisingly, some of the first people to use the Pilates Method were dancers and Darcey Bussell, an English ballet dancer, also practices pilates. She explained in an interview that after giving birth, she got back into shape by doing Pilates. She said “It’s the ballerina’s secret”.
Darcey Bussell developed a Pilates DVD, so everyone can practice pilates at home and it is my favorite, you can find it on this link: Pilates For Life, Darcey Bussell, I was very rusty when I started and really needed to define my body…this gently DVD enabled me to follow easily and to find sufficient motivation to exercise regularly. I was actually very surprised to have such good results because it was very easy, almost to easy…in fact it is extremely effective. I noticed results after a couple of sessions and it really transforms my shape. After 4 years, I keep doing it and I am still amazed about the results, how quickly it defines my body, flaten my stomac and remodels my legs, bye bye visible cellulite within a few weeks, as far as I practice weekly.
To practice you will need a very good mat, for pilates, the mat should be thick enough to protect your lower back, I like Pilates-Mad Core-Fitness Mat This mat is 10mm thick, smooth on the underside and ribbed on the side that you lie on. The mat is comfortable without being too soft.
